Guest guest
Marinated Tofu from CabbageTown Cafe Cookbook It's not really marinated, and she admits that in the recipe intro. You can really change the seasonings on this. Even my meat-eating daughter gobbles this down. I use a cast iron skillet to impart the iron into the tofu. The resulting cubes can be used in salads, stir-fries, or just plain. A container of these cubes in my kids' lunch makes them very happy. :-) 2 Tblsp light vegetable oil 1 lb tofu, cut into bite-sized cups (2 cups) - I use firm tofu 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped freshly ground black pepper 1 tsp dried dill weed or 2 Tblsp freshly chopped dill pinch cayenne 1 tsp dark sesame oil 2 tsp tamari or soy sauce 1. In a medium-size frying pan, heat the oil. Add the tofu cubes and fry for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently so nothing sticks. 2. Add the garlic, black pepper, dill, and cayenne. Continue frying and stirring until the cubes are lightly browned and crisp, about 5 minutes more. 3. Add the dark sesame oil and soy sauce, stir in and turn off the heat. 4. Taste and adjust the seasonings.
Guest guest
Great! I am going to put this over some spinach noodles tonight for dinner with some carrots and melon for desert. I was wondering what to fix now I know. It is perfect. Guest guest
Sounds good although the dill put me off. We had a dish with dill in it that was so overpowering, it turned us off dill for the time being. I'm sure I can substitute with other herbs though!
