Guest guest
How did everyone do with Thanksgiving? Did you stay within your set goals (if you had any) of not eating too much, etc.? Our Thanksgiving meal was yummy and fairly lo-cal. We made it up for it the next day though when we shared 2 different Ghiradelli sundaes after visitng the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Friday! So decadent and yummy! Thank goodness they don't have a shop near our house! Gotta splurge every now & then though, right? :-) Today's lunch will be leftover Almost Irish Stew I made in the slow cooker yesterday. I posted the recipe in the group last time we made it. Hope you're all doing well! Cindi
Guest guest
Hi there Cindi! I did horribly but to be honest, I didn't plan on not doing so (bad huh?) my SIL and her family drove in from Florida, and we played texas hold 'em all week & I think drank enough beer to float a ship to Europe :x This was my first Thanksgiving as a vegetarian, I made a fantastic " sausage " apple stuffing, and veggie gravy, and didn't feel deprived at all! Now the key is to STOP eating the stuffing hahahaa!!!! I hit the gym hard today though & am back on plan for WW, and that's all I can ask of myself! Guest guest
Ah, yes wonderful beer! So yummy and so full of calories! :-) Sounds like you had a good time though! I'd love the stuffing recipe. I had been looking forward to making this sage & onion stuffing I kept seeing at the store and it was really mushy and soooooooooo disappointing... Guest guest
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I haven't lost any weight, in spite of being vegan for about 3 months. Since I'm so close to my healthy weight, I realize now that it's just going to be very slow. I was pleasantly surprised when I weighed myself a few days after Thanksgiving and found I hadn't gained. That must be a first for me and here's hoping the trend continues through the rest of the holidays! I would like the stuffing and veggie gravy recipes also. Guest guest
My doctor told me yesterday that I have one year to lose 100 pounds. She told my to eat only fruits n vegetables, liquid protein meal replacements and drink at least 32 ounces or water every day. And to do more strength training than cardio. She even said I could have weight loss surgery if I wanted to but I still have to make the lifestyle changer. Guest guest
Hey Zen ~ Is your health being severely affected by your weight? How do you feel about what the doc suggested? And yes, weight loss surgery is not a quick cure-all, you need to change your way of life to support it too. My weight update ~ I lost 3.6 pounds last week so am up to 21.4 total lost. Have a great day everyone! Cindi zen white <zenbaby7 wrote: My doctor told me yesterday that I have one year to lose 100 pounds. Guest guest
It's going to take some dedication Zen, but you can do it if you really set your mind to it!
