Guest guest
A member on my group recently posted this link as a matter of interest. It is about the cactus known as the prickly pear or NOPAL - and its rather special properties. If you or someone in your family has or anticipates a problem with blood sugar and/or potential diabetes, this might be worth having a look at! Guest guest
This is interesting. You can buy jars of pickled cactus, nopalitos, at the grocery stores here in Texas. It's usually in the Mexican food section. Anytime I see an article about eating pickly pear cactus leaves, I sadly remember my grandmother's comment that if she had known that you could eat them, her children would never have gone hungry during the Great Depression.
