Breakfast:

H-E-B Heart Healthy Oatmeal with a splash of soymilk

Lunch:

Amy's Indian Palak Paneer frozen meal

Oriental Stir-Fry veggies

Snack:

small apple

Dinner:

large salad (lettuce, cherry tomatoes, green pepper, celery, baby

carrot and half a black skinned avocado) with that spray balsamic

dinner, Wishbone brand, I think; it has high frutose corn syrup in it

and I'm trying to use it up and then I won't ever buy it again! High

fructose corn syrup is bad in any quantity!

Ultimate Vegetarian Chili (frozen left-over)

This is the best chili I've ever had. Beats the canned stuff by a

million miles.

16 whole grain wheat thins

Never tried this, but nice to know there are lots more people

besides myself addicted to Indian food! (Although until I lose

these last few kilos I'm eating less of it - less temptation to

have triple helpings, which I don't need.)

The Ultimate Chili recipe you gave a link to is interesting -

with the cocoa powder. I imagine that would make it very

distinctive. I have added coffee to recipes, but not usually

chocolate flavouring. Hmmmmmm. Thanks for the idea!

Except for indian food that's made with coconut milk and the danger of

having triple helpings, most of the recipes I've tried have been very

reasonable in calorie count. Vegweb has a Chana Masala recipe that

I've tried that is fantastic. I also make a Kashmirian Califlower and

Cabbage recipe from an old vegetarian cookbook from the early '70s

called " Victory Through Vegetables " that's pseudo-Indian and

wonderful. I'll post the recipe if I can locate the cookbook.

I think I remember seeing in a documentary that cocoa wasn't

originally made to be a sweet by the Aztecs and other middle and South

American native peoples. The Mexicans and Hispanics here in the USA

make a sauce called molé that has cocoa as an ingredient and it's nice

and spicy.

One thing I love about having a world wide web is that there's a wide

world of recipes at my fingertips now. Sometimes the ingredients are

impossible to get but there's a lot of " exotic " things I can get in

San Antonio. I love to cook and I wish I had more time to do it.
