Guest guest
Hi Anna ~ I see you're fairly new to being a vegan. Were you vegetarian before that? You're pizza on the pita bread sounds delish. I may have to concoct something like that with tons of veggies! :-) Cindi Anna <rodstruelove wrote: Name: Anna Location: Australia now (but from Oshkosh, Wisconsin) Vegetarian/Vegan/or not: Vegan How long veg: 2-1/2 months Have been trying lots of new recipes ... some I love, some I like, some ... well I won't likely try again. LOL Not all are low-fat, but my favorite lunch would be my bean and rice burritos. And yesterday I made pizza on pita bread with a bit of veggie sausage, onions, peppers and seasonings. Yum! . Guest guest
Nope, I was never vegetarian! I read " The China Study " and that convinced me to go vegan for health reasons. Then I read John Robbins " The Food Revolution " and other things that showed me the cruelty involved and it made the decision that much easier for me. So I went " cold tofu " as they say ... on 25th February and I have not looked back. Now I just have to find a way to continue my weight loss journey while being vegan. In the last couple of years I've lost 91 pounds, and then hit a long plateau. Now I've gone vegan and I'm still on the plateau. I really want to get it moving again because I have 69 pounds to go. Guest guest
Hi Anna ~ That's great you went from non-veg straight to vegan. Good for you. Big congrats on the huge weight loss. I know a plateau can be very frustrating but it sounds like you're doing well for yourself. Have you added more exercise into the mix to help the rest of the loss? Guest guest
That's been one of the most frustrating parts of this plateau! I've worked my BUNS off! Well ... I've worked hard enough that they should have come off, anyway! LOL I work out at Curves 3 times per week, and add Turbo Jam workouts on alternate days. For months I was working out 8-10 times a week! I tried working out more, tried working out less ... didn't seem to matter. Since going vegan, however, I know I'm not making the best food choices for weight loss. I think at first, I just needed to find things I still enjoyed eating that were vegan. But now I've amassed enough recipes that I'm trying to find lower fat, lower calorie options that I still enjoy eating. I'm sure I'll get there ... eventually!
