Guest guest
I was on South Beach for 26 months, then switched to Eat to Live almost 5 weeks ago. I have 112 off altogether. I need to lose about 55 more. Maryann , Steph <mrswalp29 wrote: > > Maryann, > way to go!!! What plan are you on? Guest guest
Maryann, I’ve been sort of a silent person on the list but I am tickled for you. I’m trying to under 200 myself and it’s been an interesting journey. I’ve lost 100 pounds plus since late July 2006, and still need to lost about 74 more. I think most people don’t realize just how much a person really weighs. I have a lot of people look at me like I am crazy when I say that I need to lost 74 more pounds, but my doctor wants me to a certain weight, and I need to do what she says. I know with God’s help I will get there, and at the present time since my son has gone to be with his dad for the summer I’m on a vegan diet only for 9 weeks. Guest guest
Cece, Thanks! I still have 55 to take off (I may go ten pounds below that if I can), so I know what you mean. Good luck with the diet. My family hasn't been eating the same thing I'm eating. They eat a serving of meat, along with the veggies and beans that I am eating. It has been working okay. Guest guest
I think South Beach is easier only because there's not as much chopping and other food prep, and it's easier to eat at a restaurant. But, I am doing Eat to Live at least until I reach my goal, which will be next summer, I hope. Who knows, I may choose to never return to meat/cheese/eggs. Actually, you can do SBD vegetarian. They even have a vegetarian plan written up. Maryann , AB <annebondurant wrote: > > Maryann > > Which one would you say was easier to stick too? South Beach or Eat to Live? Guest guest
Hi, I plateaued for six monthns on SBD. I got so discouraged that I gained about 18 lbs. That's when I decided to start E2L. I figured I needed a total change. And it did work to jumpstart the weightloss and get me losing steadily again. Eat to Live is beans, whole grains, nuts, seeds, avocados, veggies, tofu, fruits and that is it. Once you get done the 6 week aggressive weight loss plan, you can add a little chicken, fish, ff milk and ff yogurt if you want. It sure is helping me lose. My hubby started Monday and by Thurs had 5 lbs off already. Maryann , " Angel " <angellovesryan wrote: > > Congrats!! Have you hit a platau (<<how do ya spell it??) and how > did you handle it?? Guest guest
Maryann, Is there a book available for E2L? I looked online and haven't heard much. Steph You snooze, you lose. Guest guest
Steph, It's Eat to Live by Joel Fuhrman MD. They sell it at Amazon.com and I also think it's available at Dr. Fuhrman's website. Guest guest
Today I reached 150 lb! I have lost about 25 lb, which means about 15% of my body weight. I was aiming by my birthday (next week) to be 145 lb, but have hit plateaus a few times that have taken a month or more to break through. I always seem to lose the weight right after my period. (Of course the day or two before, I jump up 3 pounds.) I still have to lose about 8 more to no longer be considered " overweight " , and my goal is 135 (another 15 more). No special diet; just trying to watch portions, eat sensibly, and increase activity. I really found " No-Fad Diet " to be a great tool. I have just recently started actually planning my meals for the week. I did it in order to organize my time and shopping and cut down on impulse buys and fast food; but I have found that it has been a good weight-loss tool too. I can see something good in the fridge and instead of thinking " oh, that looks good, I want it now " , I can say " we'll eat that for supper on Wednesday " and stick to an appropriate snack instead of another meal. Guest guest
Woo hoo!!! The top of my range is 145, also, but you are almost there! I think I want to get to 135, also. Congrats!
