Guest guest
Hi, Jeannie! Nice to have you join us! Well, congratulations on deciding to become veggie - you're nearly there! You say you live in the country - do you garden? If so, you're lucky to be able to grow your own lovely fruits and vegetables. (We can't - live right in the city, in an apartment!) You've done the right thing by replacing me*t with whole grains and fruit - it's important not to fall into the trap of thinking that a veggie can eat anything as long as it has no animal flesh. You can do that and call yourself a vegetarian, of course, but you won't be able to do that and call yourself a _healthy_ vegetarian! So good for you!!! Have a look at all the yummy recipes in our Files section on the Homepage - I'm sure you'll find plenty there to interest you. And if there's something in particular you need to know about, just give a holler, okay? Enjoy the group! Best, Pat (Group Co-Owner with Cindi)
Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome! Yes I do garden, and it seems to get bigger every year!! I am still experimenting w/ growing my own stuff, trying to learn what grows up here, I come from miami and that is a totally diffrent ag. zone so right now the whole garden is a big science project. I was lucky that the property came w/ all sorts of fruit and nut trees! Apples, peaches plums pears and oranges and a walnut and almond tree, and there are lots of organic produce produced around here so it makes it great place to be. I plan to check out the files this weekend, I am always on the lookout for new recipes! Have a great weekend!! Jeannie Pat <drpatsant wrote: Hi, Jeannie! Nice to have you join us! Guest guest
Not so scary, but kinda a crap shoot. Sometimes what they tell you will grow dosen't and what is not suppose to will, very strange. But I love playing out there in the dirt, something very soothing and Zen about it. Now if I could just find a cure for weeds I would be happy!
