Guest guest
For those of you McDougallers out there, has anyone tried the Mary's Mini-McDougall diet? It's a 10-day diet but as it's nutritionally sound you can follow it for as long as you like. It's just very limiting, so you could find it monotonous. But you can lose up to 10 pounds in the 10 days. You pick one starch (e.g. Potatoes) and have that for each meal, with fruits and vegetables. Not one different starch at each meal, but the same one over and over. For instance, I've eaten potatoes, fruits and veggies for he last 2 weeks and have lost over 7 pounds. I'm going to keep going for at least another week. It really was only hard the first 2-3 days until I found some favorite ways to eat potatoes. Of course you can't add any fat, so I've been cooking and thick slicing potatoes with some ketchup on them, or shredding cooked potatoes into hash browns and browning in a non-stick pan, or my favorite -- mashed potatoes with a bit of fat-free soy milk. I like to serve some fat-free roasted red pepper salsa on top of the mashed potatoes for more flavor. Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had success with this plan. You can read more about it in the June and July 2006 McDougall newsletters: http://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2006nl/june/marys.htm http://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2006nl/july/marys2.htm Anna
