Guest guest
Have any of you found the flavored oil spritzes useful? I found some nice ones in the gourmet section in T.J. Maxx, not where I usually food shop! They're in nice little spray bottles. One is plain EV Olive Oil, one is the olive oil flavored with Truffles (the mushrooms, not the candy!), and one is Grapeseed Oil flavored with Lemon. I love to just spritz a bit on lightly steamed broccoli or other veggies, and then add just a little salt, which the oil holds in place. Way less calories than buttering the veggies. You could make your own too, I'd think, by leaving herbs in your favorite oils for awhile (few weeks?), and straining into spray bottles from the health food store. I've been enjoying these for awhile now. They last a long time. Love & Light, Barbara BarbaraJean1732 ..-=*=-..-=*=-..-=*=-..-=*=-..-=*=-..-=*=-..-=*=-..-=*=-..-=*=-..-=*=-. Guest guest
This is a good idea I remember seeing an ad on TV for them (now that you remind me!) but had totally forgotten. Just a spritz would be good instead, as you say, of butter. About the home spritzer bottles - the ones you've saved or whatever - one with just plain evoo can come in very handy, I'm told, for spritzing baking pans and non-stick skillets. I haven't tried it yet, but am already teed off with the commercial 'pam' or whatever brand it is that they sell in the shops Thanks a bunch! Keep up the good ideas! This is the spritzer I love. (I'm not affiliated with the manufacturer, I just think the spritzer is awesome.) I've had troubles with other spritzers but not this one. It's a little pricey, but unlike most spritzers, it's designed to let you put herbs in your oil without clogging the spritzer: http://tinyurl.com/2acc78 Sparrow
