Guest guest
Okay the new me starts again here! The holiday is now well and truly over, back to tracking food and drink (and exercise!), time to get organised in all areas of my life - I think the weight is just a symptom of bigger problems (okay not being able to walk is a major one!) - it seems though every time I am getting there something/someone knocks me back! Yoga and a positive attitude is needed I think, also I tend to find that a messy house/room is indicative of how I am feeling and at the moment ..........!!!! So plans for the coming week - clear the sofa and the coffee table, sort out magazines and lose a minimum of a pound in weight. Reading the latest Rosemary Conley magazine and book should help on that - her diet book recommends a two week period of no alcohol to kick start it and after the amount consumed over the week away I think this could be a good idea! My goal at the moment is to get back below 21 stone - this morning I weighed in at 21 4.5 so 5 weeks should do it! The Dragon
Guest guest
Hi Dragon. Sounds like you have a good week planned. I'll be cleaning and organizing with you - we're closing on a house this week and have barely gotten started. something you said really hit hard with me : >I think the weight is just a > symptom of bigger problems (okay not being able to walk is a major > one!) - it seems though every time I am getting there > something/someone knocks me back! I gained a lot of what I'd lost after a car accident left me with a bad hip and back. Since then really I've had a hard time getting back into the swing of things - it's been 3 years now so you'd think I was past it. I know that I sabotage myself. I'll buy the sweets that I crave because of stress or pain or fear, then comfort myself with it. Then I feel sick about it, vow to do better, then do it all over again - but with a " healthier alternative " sweet. My mind needs organizing and a good smacking every once in a while. Sorry to ramble. It's good to see that I'm not the only one. Thanks for sharing & best to you. Sherrie

I certainly relate to what I have been hearing. I am personally doing my best to get back on a structured eating plan for weight loss , health, and my mental well-being as well. Tracking what I eat and keeping to specific times (meal times) to eat w/o spontaneous snacking is what works best for me. I also find there are certain foods (even vegan ones) that are best left out of my plan. Glad to see others working toward positive goals, as well. Guest guest
I hear you, JJ. If 'going veg' or 'going vegan' were enough for health and a safe weight, we'd not need this group at all The fact is, fats/oils are high in calories, sugar is high in calories, and lots of 'white' foods (white flour, white rice and some others) as well as processed food, veg, vegan or whatever, are unhealthy. So here we are, reassessing our eating habits and getting back on track! Thanks for checking in!
