Guest guest
Hey there, Sorry I have been so quiet lately. It's been to nice to be on the computer Here's my question. My carnivourous husband has been told by his nutritionist to start eating more soy protien(Less calories per protien) It was suggested for him to go with the Morning star brand. Do any of you have a suggestion for other protien supplements that may have a more satisfying taste for my Hubby? Thanks, Sarah B.
Guest guest
I would eat it instead of drinking it! There are so many great soy foods out there. Guest guest
Boca burgers are probably the best for those trying to replace meat. Amy's also makes some tasty burger type items. Guest guest
I think your DH will be pleased with the Morning Star brand. The crumbles are wonderful and can really fool a meat eater, we had some made into a stroganoff last night and my husband who is a hardcore meat lover said it was wonderful and he is willing to bet his picky brother owuld eat it and not know the difference. The Breakfast sausage patties are very yummy. The burgers come in many flavors and although they are not going to be the same as eating a greasy cheese burger they are nice in their own way. The cheese " steak " flavor and Spicy black bean flavor are my favorites but the plain and Tomato basil are good too. The meal starters " steak " strips make an awesome philly cheese steak if your DH might be into that. I think one key with meat eaters is not to tell them " it's just like a hambrger " because they will be disapointed. I try the " well it's not exactly the same texture/flavor as a meat burger but it is really good in it's own way " . This way they are not expecting a Big Mac but know the food is still good. ~Amanda~ " UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not. Guest guest
Thanks for the input. Where do you find the strips? All that I have been able to find in my area is the non-suasage patties. Guest guest
I find the strips in the same area as the burger patties. They come in a bag like the " burger " crumbles. They make a chicken style strip too. I usually find the breakfast sausage style items near the normal sausage and waffles in the freezer section. Oh and just an opinion stay away from the morning star " bacon " . It tastes like fake bacon flavor sprayed on cardboard. Some people love it though. ~Amanda~ " UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.
