Guest guest
Okay mid week last week the weight was going well - I got down to 20 stone 10 pounds (aka 290 pounds or 131.5 kg), this morning I was back to 21-1 (295lb or 133.8 kg) - WTF!! The only thing that has been different has been the intake of medication has increased again, so in the next month I need to a) lose a stone (14 pounds or 6.3 kg) b) get my BP down (losing weight and doing exercise will do that) So plan of campaign is as follows 1. Track everything I eat including weekends! 2. Bring Yoga " stuff " downstairs and start easy stretches again 3. Increase fruit and veg - find new and low fat veggie recipes. 4. Follow Rosemary Conley again AND find out about the class in the village. The Dragon (growling away in Cambridge here!)
Guest guest
Sooo sorry to hear that things took a turn in the WRONG direction. Hope to hear good news soon. Keeping a food diary i a great idea. I think I am going to try it. I have a wedding to attend on Oct. 18, and need to look my best (the groom is my ex, and I was involved with 3 others that will be attending as well (in college, I had FUN! LOL) Plus, what husband doesn't love arm candy! I am going to try out more raw veggies, too. Convenience foods overtook last week while my hubby was out of town and I played single mom (no fun). Guest guest
Enjoy the wedding Cassie - and yes the idea of being better arm candy than the bride is a nice one :-) The Dragon (aka High Priestess Enchanting Evenweave) Current stitching - Map of Durham http://tempewytch.diaryland.com/
Guest guest
How much does your weight normally fluctuate by from day to day? I know when hubby was up over 250 lb his weight easily fluctuated 10 lb from one day to the next, and when I started out trying to lose weight, mine fluctuated by 5-8 lb. Now it is usually within a window of 3 lb, but can be more right before my period, for example. All kinds of things can affect how much you weigh from one day to the next. Constipation and bowel movements, water retention and salt intake, inflammation from exercise, not getting enough sleep, hormonal shifts, etc. I weigh every day so that I can see the trends and patterns, rather than relying on a once-a-week weigh, which might show me my " low " one week, and my " high " the next. That way I know when my weight tends to be the highest and I don't miss the days when it is lowest, and can keep track whether it is on a downward trend. Guest guest
> I am going to try out more raw veggies, too. Yes, they fill you up nicely, I find. A word of caution, though (oh lawdiemee, here she goes again!): don't overdo any nuts and seeds - or the ultra sweet fruits. I added those in when I started doing more raw and also tried out some raw recipes. Result was that in a few weeks I'd gained a few pounds Not nice to have to go and take a reducing diet from your health diet, if you follow me. So be careful - it is a pitfall of newbies to raw food. That said, I applaud a rawfood diet and all those who can follow it. Have you read Brazier's The Thrive Diet? Love and hugs from Pat to the future arm-candy girl. Was it you or some other wonderful person here who put me onto this way of keeping track of weight on a day-to-day basis? Probably several of you. You can go to: http://www.physicsdiet.com/FitnessLog.aspx Dragon (and anyone else who needs it): This weight log will calculate your average weight, your BMI, etc. for you on a daily basis. So, say, at the end of a ten-day time period your weight may be slightly up (or down) from what it was but your _average_ weight may have stayed the same. There are also graphs you can click into the see how it looks over a longer period. It's really enabling. I am so grateful for someone telling me Here it is again! http://www.physicsdiet.com/FitnessLog.aspx Good luck. Love and hugs, Pat
Guest guest
Hi Pam My weight normally shifts a pound up or down (except when I am actually losing!) on a day to day basis - the only change has been the medication and that can put anything upto 14 pounds on in a day :-( It doesn't shift that easily either! Guest guest
I have tried to limit my nut intake, as I could snack all day every day on them. As for ultra-sweet fruits...have to satisfy my sweet tooth at some point, and eating half of an apple pie last night was not the way I should have spent my time or my calories. --- On Mon, 9/8/08, drpatsant <drpatsant wrote: drpatsant <drpatsant Re: Why oh why me?! Guest guest
Ahh that sweet tooth! It has betrayed us all at some time or another, hasn't it!! Had to laugh about your half-an-apple-pie scenario - irresistible, I'm sure That's the trouble about trying to slim in a household where these things are still 'needed' by other members of the household. Anyway, Cassie, I hope the time and calories weren't totally wasted, as you say - I hope you enjoyed it thoroughly and can now get on with turning yourself into serious competition for the bride and that 'arm candy' your husband fancies Love and hugs, Pat Cassie Dixon <roxy87cabriolet Monday, September 8, 2008 9:30:13 PM Re: Why oh why me?!
