JIffy " Cheese " Spread

Source: Newstart Lifestyle Cookbook

 

3/4 cup water

1/3 cup clean, raw cashews

1 cup cooked brown rice

2 oz. jar pimientos

2 Tbsp. food yeast flakes

2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice

1 tsp. onion powder

1 tsp. salt

1/4 tsp. garlic powder

pinch dill weed

 

Process cashews with about 1/2 cup of the water in a blender until

very smooth. Add remaining water and cooked rice and continue blending.

Add remaining ingredients and continue to blend until very smooth. Will

keep in refrigerator, in an airtight container about 1 week. For variation,

add caraway or chives.

 

Yields: 2 cups or 16 servings

Calories per Tbsp. = 36

is that like nutritional yeast?? baking yeast??
