Guest guest
i haven't been able to find any ramen noodles without meat products in the seasoning packets either. i just throw the packets away and use a vegetarian bouilon cube instead, then add a teaspoon of natural peanut butter along with three or four shakes of hot sauce. Guest guest
Nissin Top Ramen, Oriental flavor. Get 'em at Winco, usually $1.98 for a case of 24. No meat products. I'll provide the list of ingredients if anyone is truly interested Cat , " Feral " <terebinthus> wrote: > i haven't been able to find any ramen noodles > without meat products in the seasoning packets > either. i just throw the packets away and use a > vegetarian bouilon cube instead, then add a > teaspoon of natural peanut butter along with > three or four shakes of hot sauce. Guest guest
Sometimes Asian grocery stores have vegetarian ones, but they are hard to find. WHen I need a ramen fix, I usually use a veggie bouillion cube too, and some soy sauce. Sometimes I add some miso. I usually add broccoli florets or peas, too. That's so I can assuage my guilt at eating the emty calories that are ramen --- Feral <terebinthus wrote: > i haven't been able to find any ramen noodles > without meat products in the seasoning packets > either. i just throw the packets away and use a > vegetarian bouilon cube instead, then add a > teaspoon of natural peanut butter along with > three or four shakes of hot sauce. Guest guest
Does the list say " natural flavors " ? Those natural flavors can be meat products. The manufacturer doesn't have to tell you. --- sweetcatkins <sweetcatkins wrote: > > Nissin Top Ramen, Oriental flavor. Get 'em at > Winco, usually $1.98 > for a case of 24. No meat products. Guest guest
I have had luck finding vegetarian ramen type noodles at asian markets - packets of different noodle types made with vegetable stock instead of beef. I guess this only helps if you live in an area that has asian grocery stores!! Guest guest
Yes, they are...which is why I don't eat them every day, or even every week. But for an occasional quick meal, they are acceptable to me. I follow a very low fat/low sodium diet as it is. Very easy to do on a vegetarian lifestyle! , " matrixenos . Guest guest
Hey sweetcatkins, my apologies if you thought I was directing that at you. I jumped into the middle of the thread and was making a general statement (sorry). I love how the label people consider that (or the ones I've seen) 2 servings when I believe many would consider it one. So the grams of fat that we may glance at, indicating 8-10 grams of fat are actually only half that block (being one serving). Just recently I made a stirfry with carrots, celery, snap peas, bell pepper, onion, 2 other chinese veggies that I can't remember the name of, (and instead of the usual hoisen and chinese marinade) lots of garlic, lemon pepper and a bit of butter. It was a much cleaner stir fry and you could taste all the veggies nicely (and crunchy of course). I made some regular spaghetti pasta and tossed the stirfry over that with a touch of soy sauce. Good stuff. S. > " sweetcatkins " <sweetcatkins > >Yes, they are...which is why I don't eat them every day, or even >every week. But for an occasional quick meal, they are acceptable to >me.
