I have to agree on the veggie hot dog. I wasn't a huge hot dog fan back in

the days when I did eat meat, but I haven't found a veggie one that I think

is even worth eating. My puppy likes them though :-)

Have you ever tried " Smart Dogs " before? They taste as much like real hotdogs as

you can get. Also, " Tofu Pups " are an excellent alternative I think. The company

" LightLife " puts them out.

Also thanks Melody for the cooking tip on the boil

then fry method; i'll have to give that a try next time.

Personally, I have found most veggie dogs to be realistic enough when I use

plenty of condiments. That's what I did when I was a meat-eater anyway. Gotta

love onions, mustard, and relish!!!!!!

Yes yes yummy. Do Melodys way of cooking the veg dogs, it's the best

way (I've tried grilling them " without " boiling...no good.). I do a

semi-boil/steam by placing them in a skillet covering them lengthwise

half way with water and then put a lid on for just a few minutes on a

high temp. They are wonderful like that but if you want, dry them off

and fry them for a bit until they get a touch brown...good stuff. A

good quick meal is to top them (in a bun of course) with a can of

veggie chili w/beans and the lovely condiments that you've mentioned

below. Add some jalps and maybe some shredded sharp cheddar! Been

there, done that several times!! :)
