Guest guest
I have made friends with a Messianic Jew that is in Chemistry class with me, and earlier this week he invited me to celebrate Rosh Hashana (Feast of Trumpets) with his friends and family. It had been a long time since I've celebrated any of the Judaic festivals (I'm a non-practicing Messianic Jew), and I hadn't observed any since I became a vegetarian, so I was rather suprised when nearly 95% of all the dishes that were served were vegetarian/vegan! I inquired about this, and found out that the modern butchering method of factory farms isn't kosher (not suprising, but I hadn't ever thought about it before), hence many Jews in keeping with the food laws, go vegetarian. Hey, works for me. It's called the " Feast of Trumpets " and it was aptly named. Over 250 people present, and there was still plenty of food left on the serving table when all was said and done. A good time was had by all, and I was pleased to find it so veggie- friendly. Guest guest
Plenty of Fresh fruits and vegetables, stuffed dates, all sorts of salad varieties, flatbreads, spinach puffs (something like that), some various vegetable casseroles (spinach, okra, squash) and plenty more if I can remember the rest. Did I mention they also had some of the best wine?
