Guest guest
> 1. What were your 5 trouble areas when you decided to go vegetarian? > hm. i don't know if i ever really had what i would consider trouble areas. when i went vegan, i did it based on my beliefs (i don't believe in causing harm to other living creatures if i can avoid it, and i care greatly about the planet and those living on it), and if i believe in something strongly enough, the rest is easy. i occasionally get a craving for " real " cheese pizza, but that's about it. > > 2. What is necessary for a pantry? > what do you like? dried grains, sea veggies, canned tomatoes/beans, pasta, spices of all kinds... > > 3. What is one balanced meal I should include in my new diet? > check the recipes here and also on www.vegweb.com. every meal should include a protein source (tofu, beans, nuts, seeds, seitan, tempeh, whole grains, etc), complex carbs ( " brown " grains and vegetables of all kinds-- the more colours, the better), and healthy fats (sesame oil, olive oil, grapeseed oil, avocadoes, most nuts and seeds, excepting palm and coconut). your diet should have about 30% protein, 50% complex carbs, 20% fats. try to break it up into 6 small meals. > > 4. Guest guest
Thank-you Everyone, I was able to go shopping and stock my pantry with your suggestions. I came out spending 155.00 But I think the things I bought will last for a long time. (except the fresh veg and fruits.) You all have been very helpful I am on Day 4 and will be having Veg. Chili for dinner tonight. pen vote. - Register online to vote today!
