Guest guest
> Wow!! Great website:) Love the clothes & buttons:) A real grabber, eh? > I made scrambled tofu yesterday for breakfast and. . .. Excellent - and as you say so much nicer than eggs! (Well, for those who are trying to avoid them, of course.) >. . . but I am noticing with all of this label reading, that being vegan takes alot of home cooking, because there's dairy in so much stuff of the prepared/packaged stuff you'd never > have dreamt of... That's no dream, hon - it's called a nightmare. This is one reason why it's so difficult to avoid dairy after you get older. It's not so much that one is set in one's ways (and I am) but because the eyesight just, like the old grey mare, ain't what it used to be :=( But yes, if one decides to try to avoid eggs and dairy - and some vegetarians get along just fine using both, and vegetarianism allows for that, of course - then life gets to be more of a, well, challenge! LOL Enjoy it. It might be one of the more fun challenges you have for a while! Guest guest
That website was pretty cool. Those ladies sure have a way of presenting the challenges of being a vegan in a fun and light-hearted manner. I was VERY pleased to find that Droste Dark Chocolate Pastilles have zero dairy in them:) I'm a chocoholic, and I was worried about having to refine my tastes to carob. I did notice this morning, that having my coffee black was not as enjoyable, so I'm switching to teas instead. I know I can do soy milk creamers, but right now I don't have any on hand, and the nearest place I can get them is halfway across town - a weekend trip!!! Carob's pretty good, I seem to remember, from the odd time I tasted it ;=) (Avoid sweets, I do) > having my coffee black was not as enjoyable, so I'm switching to teas instead. Now that's a sensible solution ;=) - instead of depriving yourself of what you like, substitute something else entirely - something you do like! Guest guest
I agree - I should avoid sweets - working on that one as well... Yes, I love teas:) Especially herbed varieties:) Debra , psybermus <psybermus> wrote: > > >I was worried about having to refine my tastes to > carob. > > Carob's pretty good, I seem to remember, from the odd > time I tasted it ;=) (Avoid sweets, I do) > > > having my coffee black was not as > enjoyable, so I'm switching to teas instead. > > Now that's a sensible solution ;=) - instead of > depriving yourself of what you like, substitute > something else entirely - something you do like! > > Best luck, > > Pat ;=) > > ===== > ----------- > " The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.
