Guest guest
I am attempting to get financing to expand my mushroom farm. Any ideas? I only grow organic mushrooms such as Shitake, Miatake and Reishi mushrooms. They taste great and are actually good for you. They cost less than beef and as you all know are not causing any pain or suffering such as a normal livestock farm. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks, Brian - nadiana1 Tuesday, November 30, 2004 7:54 PM hi, robby! and everyone else new i didn't get to say hi to in recent weeks! http://www.flawlessfitness.com http://www.melodysmusic.net
Guest guest
I could never work on a mushroom farm. I would go bankrupt because I would be eating all the product. Guest guest
> I am attempting to get financing to expand my mushroom farm. Any ideas? Where is your farm? Do you sell the mushrooms? Locally (Takoma Park, MD) There is a year round farmers market where a gal sells mushrooms. I think she is able to get a " pretty penny " for the mushrooms, just like the grocery stores. If you do sell, have recipes available, so that people less knowlegdeable about them will feel comfortable buying and using them. Maybe some fact sheets too. Do you dry them? So people prefer to buy dried mushrooms. (I have a friend with a vegan mushroom soup/sauce recipe that uses dried mushrooms - we tried it with fresh and it was a flop.) Contact your local farm agent (Are they still around?) for more advice - especially onthe $$ end. Also check with your local, state, & national representative to the legislature - there may be grants, etc. that you just have to ask about. Perhaps you can check out USDA.gov about grants, etc. too.
