Recipe: My Friend Pyali's Dal - QUESTION about Dal

I am just verifying my understanding - Dal is a Lentil, correct? What

color is the one mentioned below? (If you are using the frozen

veggies, should they be thawed before adding them to the pan?)

Dal is lentil, but there are many varieties of them - the bags should be

marked as such if you purchase them at your local Indian grocer, or

perhaps on of our new friends could describe the color and whether or

not these are split...

Dhal or Dal means beans and lentils

 

Moosoori is Red Egyptian Lentils
