Guest guest
>According to my cooking Thai fish sauce has nothing to do >with fish, only that it contains anchovy extract. When I make >fish I don't use fish sauce. Most people use fish sauce to perk up the flavor of noodle dishes etc. Yes, of course ;=) But it is *called* Fish Sauce because of the fish extract (anchovy) in it. I don't cook fish - or other meat - at all. Ever. I simply meant that although I don't like the idea of the taste (or smell) of fish anymore, including the taste and smell of Thai Fish Sauce (vegetarian or not, I imagine!), I would like to have a vegetarian version in the kitchen for those occasions when I might want to include it in a vegetarian dish for someone else who still likes to pretend that they are having The Real Thing. Ya know, the ones who enjoy analogs too? Harmless. For myself and my husband, we find we can continue our long interest in Thai cooking without bothering with analogs ;=) Of course, the best was in Thailand - - - Best, Pat ;=) Take Mail with you! Given that Thailand is someone where I have wanted to go for quite a while now, and hopefully will in the near future, can you tell me how you went in regards to vegetarian food? I am hoping to go a little further North around the Chang Mai region... >Best to you out there in - sunny Perth? Yes, i am in Perth, and it's definitely been sunny as of late, getting warm here once again... Thanks...
