Guest guest
Some more prices on veggie faire down here in South Texas. I just got back from shopping at Sun Harvest grocery store; Pears, D'Anjou and Bosc, .49 lb.; Red or Gold Delicious Apples, .49 lb.; large baking potato .25 lb.; reg. russet potatoes .14 lb.; Whole Pineapple,.99 ea., Zucchini and Yellow Squash, .69 lb; Cedarlane frozen veggie meals, Regularly $4.00 ea., on sale $2.50 ea.; Linda McCartney frozen veggie meals, reg. $3.99 ea., on sale, $2.27 ea.; California large navel seedless oranges, .47 lb.; large sweet mangoes, ..50 ea.; Kiwi fruit, 8/$1.00; 8oz. pk white mushrooms, .88 ea.; large cauliflower .99 ea.; broccoli crowns, .88 lb.; limes, 8/$1.00, bananas, .33 lb., and much, much more. The prices on many of these items is even lower at fruit and vegetable markets, Example, tomatoes, .99 lb. There is plenty for Vegans and Vegetarians to eat, and at a cost much less than carnivores spend. You just have to take time to look though the store and read labels. And I am enjoying some of these delicious things as we speak. " Be kind to animals... By not eating them " , William Scott

Guest guest
I am in Corpus Christi, Texas. The headquarters for Sun Harvest is in San Antonio, Texas. I would think that they have stores at least in all of the larger cities in Texas. They also have bulk in barrels at a very good price. I also got Nasoya Marinated Tofu in 3 differeent styles, Teriyaki, Thai Peanut, and Sweet and Sour. They are normally $4.99 ea. on sale they were $2.50 ea. Their prices on canned goods are generally not as low as Texas HEB Grocery Stores. HEB canned goods run about .33-.49 for most of their veggies. And not to long ago I bought a lot of Boca products at HEB. Boca Burgers and their similar items sell normally sell for between $3.79-$4.50. HEB reg. price is $2.43, but was $1.43 after a $1.00 0ff coupon. " Be kind to animals... Guest guest
There's a Sun Harvest about 50 miles from me in McAllen (I'm north in the rural communities). I'd heard complaints about it being too expensive and the one time I went in (which was a while back), I noticed it was cheaper to just go to HEB so I haven't gone back. I'm making a trip into town today (hokey as that sounds, it's true LOL) and will probably stop in to see what Sun Harvest is like now. I must have missed the post with the store's name though, that's why I asked where in South Texas. Thanks for the info! ~CJsMonnie~ _____ William Tap Scott [william_the_scot] Thursday, December 09, 2004 10:57 PM Re: More info on the price of veggies I am in Corpus Christi, Texas. Guest guest
As I've said, some of Sun Harvest stuff is overpriced, especially the ready to eat veggie meals (as these meals are at most stores)and their canned goods. But their produce and a few other things are pretty good regular price and all of these items are very good priced (half or more off) when they are sale priced. They have a Wed. thru Wed. sales ad. On Wed. both ads are in force, the week before and the week after, which means in one visit you can double the amount of items you save on. To take advantage of the best sales you should always check both ads. and shop on Wed. HEB always has lots of good prices, but in some instances Sun Harvest will beat them by half the price. You have to shop both places to get the best deals. But I don't know if it's worth driving 50 miles for. Also being farther south than me, you should be able to get good prices on produce at a lot of places. " Be kind to animals...
