Guest guest
you were meant to be here - david* Thursday, December 09, 2004 5:01 PM Re: Co-operation??? Veronica, In '97 I sold my great album collection to help get $ for a trip abroad. They were mostly warn out but lots of good stuff from the 40s, 50s, 60s, early '70s. It was Melanie's live double album but don't remember the one u mentioned. My mind went to Shirley Temple singing " animal crackers in my soup... " before thinking about Harpo jumping on a lady's back in " Animal Crackers " ...lol. Animal crackers is as close as i would get to eating animals. My family thought i went " off the deep end " when i became a vegetarian since i made a dramatic change in eating habits over 90 days. They saw that it made me healthier so they came to accept it though my eldest brother has shot animals for target practice and another brother runs a meat market... If it hadnt been for outside influences growing up in SF area, I doubt i would ever be in a group like this. ds Diamond Dog <diamonddog@g...> wrote: > >Anyone remember the line " give me dots on the apples " by Melanie in " I > >Dont Eat > >Animals " ? Guest guest
Pat, Somehow i knew that was coming... hehe. Since there's more to a piece of fruit than looks, i only date vegetarians! Anyone remember the line " give me dots on the apples " by Melanie in " I Dont Eat Animals " ? That's a fun song with catchy thoughts like " white can be nice but mostly it's not " when talking about choosing nature-friendly healthy foods. Some were singing about vegetarianism over 30s yrs ago which gave generations food for thought. I remembered that song besides the Kink's " Im An Ape Man " when my son brought the subject up years later. , psybermus <psybermus> wrote: > LOL Of course, the same may be said of the working > girls on the corner ;=) . . . . > Best, Pat ;=) > > Of course, fruits go to a lot of trouble to make > themselves > > attractive to get eaten. Guest guest
This is food for thought Maria. Since having a feeling of belonging sometimes eludes me, i appreciate your words... I think it important to have supportive community since we don't always get it from our immediate family. Cheers, david* <puterwitch@c...> wrote: > you were meant to be here > - > hadnt been for outside influences growing up in SF area, I doubt i would ever be in a group like this. ds

Guest guest
Hey David, My mother, my very own mommy refers to vegetarians as " whackos " " oh, you have been talking to those whackos again huh? " grrrrrrr. We don't choose our family, just our friends. Blessings, Chanda - david* Monday, December 13, 2004 3:05 AM Re: Co-operation??? This is food for thought Maria.
