Guest guest
Susie, you gave me that great idea for making falafel in smaller balls and serving them with a tahini dipping sauce as a party platter idea. i definately want to do that this weekend. Could you tell me the recipe you used for the tahini dipping sauce? Did you thin it out with yogurt or something? Seasonings? TIA. ~ pt ~ Peace comes from within.Ê Do not seek it without. ~ Buddha
Guest guest
well pt, i don't really have a recipe, i kinda just add this and that until it tastes good. i start with a big scoop of tahini. i add the juice of 1/2 a lemon and stir (it takes a bit of stirring) in enough water to reach the consistency i want (i usually get it to a consistency that is easy to drizzle...not too thin, but not thick). then i stir in the seasonings....salt, garlic powder, cumin, and cayenne....all to taste. hope this gives you some kind of idea. susie --- ~ PT ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: > > Susie, you gave me that great idea for making > falafel in smaller balls and serving them with a > tahini dipping sauce as a party platter idea. > i definately want to do that this weekend. > Could you tell me the recipe you used for the > tahini dipping sauce? Guest guest
Yes, it helps a lot. Thanks! Sounds very easy and delicious. It is always fun to bring something different to these parties since i am the only vegetarian in the group. i like to show off a bit, i admit, mostly to prove to them we don't eat only boring iceberg salads etc. *lol* ~ pt ~ Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting; over and over announcing your place in the family of things. ~ Mary Oliver, from the poem 'Wild Geese' ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , " artichoke72x " < artichoke72x> wrote: > well pt, > i don't really have a recipe, i kinda just add this > and that until it tastes good. > i start with a big scoop of tahini. i add the juice > of 1/2 a lemon and stir (it takes a bit of stirring) > in enough water to reach the consistency i want (i > usually get it to a consistency that is easy to > drizzle...not too thin, but not thick). then i stir > in the seasonings....salt, garlic powder, cumin, and > cayenne....all to taste. > hope this gives you some kind of idea. > susie
Guest guest
Wow... that can be challenging being the only vegetarian... I use the same basic ingredience as Susie though sometimes add onion pwder or 31 seasons salute [trader joes]. I used to have a recipe for a cheese dip made with olive oil, these same seasonings, and nutritional yeast, but never got around to trying it. It was called " uncheese whiz " :]. I think that once you have a couple of good dips, gravies, and toppings mastered, you can wow anyone willing to explore different foods. ds , " ~ PT ~ " <patchouli_troll> wrote: > > Yes, it helps a lot.
