If you haven't seen/tried it yet, it's Tabasco's newest pepper sauce

and it's heavenly!! I had some a couple of nights ago while dining

out, and I was asking for a shot glass!! So, those of you that were

looking for a smoke flavoring for your split pea soup, if you also

wouldn't mind a little kick, it's great!

Here's the ingredients list:

chipotle pepers, distilled vinegar, water, salt, sugar, onion powder,

garlic powder, spices, natural flavor, distilled vinegar, red pepper,

and salt...

:)

Thx, Donna

I find it in any of the many Mediterranean markets we have here in

Dallas. The brand is " Cortas. " You might also look at chain stores

like Carnival or Fiesta...

It's is really wonderful - it gives the baklava the faintest hint of

orange flavouring:) The woman I received my recipe from got the

recipe from her previous mother-in-law in Saudi Arabia. She uses

pistashios and the rolled method. I do the same, but usually split

the recipe between walnuts and pistashios and sometimes use the green

pistachio phyllo for variation. I have also used chocolate phyllo

and ground hazelnuts for a change of pace:)

Debra, I love the stuff! I've had several bottles of that goodness.

I add it to my chili soups (it really transforms the stuff). It's

even better in the soup than getting the chipotle peppers in adobo

sauce, imho. Ever try the Habanero Tabasco? YUM. I have a small

collection of hot sauce bottles and many of them are Tabasco, lol.

Other chileheads would probably frown upon that, but I just think it's

really good. Sometimes, I do wish there was a bit less vinegar (in

the orginal and hab), as that really tends to stand out in a recipe.

However I generally use it as a condiment anyway to light/spark up the

mouth! LOL, shot glass aye?? They don't call us s

fo nuttin! ;)

Hi,

Yes, there is a certain issue with respect to some chileheads about

Tabasco but I'm not one of the them. I have chipotle, regular

and habanero tabasco. Of course I probably have another

dozen or so other hot sauces. Ever try Marie Sharp's habanero sauce?

I like it. Of course I have some of Dave's which I use very sparingly.

It really is more hot than flavor. I like to mix a drop or two of it

with some sriracha chile sauce and ketchup (catsup) for my french

fries. Tasty!

I order sauces occasionally from these two:

Dave's Insanity Sauces are good - but like you said, more scoville

than sauce!! I haven't tried Marie Sharp's, tho - hadn't heard of it

before. There is a cool little shop in Austin called Sambet's Cajun

store & deli. They have lined the place with shelves that have every

pepper sauce imaginable!! It's one of the many things I miss about

Austin...
