Guest guest
Thanks Klara for sharing info on Porter... i would love to meet her or at least catch her act. I identify myself as " neo macrobiotic " since i am not as strict as some that follow a balanced whole foods diet. Though i avoid animal products, if someone made me a cake with an egg i would partake gracefully. It is not my preference however. Also, i never stopped eating tomatoes [a macro no-no] though I don't buy them if not organic and are easy to by around Oregon. Fortunately there are organic spagetti sauces on the markets these days if you don't can or make your own. In '87, I had vegan lasagna that was quite memoriable at East-West Center in San Diego but haven't seen the recipe anywhere since they were unwilling to share it at the time. Anyway, with all the talk abt gmo tomatoes besides some saying to avoid nightshades [used to be thought of as poisonous], I think that someone could do well to come come out with beet-carrot sauce as had been used in the macrobiotic recipe. The only drawback that I noted was that the beet turns your noodles purple but i wasnt complaining... it was the tastiest Lasagna i ever had. I didnt find the recipe on a quick google search but perhaps someone here has a recipe? Meanwhile here's a couple vegan recipes i did find [including holiday deserts]... http://vegweb.com/recipes/pasta/index-pasta-lasagna.shtml http://www.ivu.org/recipes/pasta/vegan-lasagna.html http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=diet & dbid=9 http://www.razzledazzlerecipes.com/vegan-recipes/ http://www.imss.macrobiotic.net/mbfcf/recipes.html http://www.macrobioticmeals.com/healthy_desserts.html , " Klara LeVine " <klara_levine> wrote: > > David, > > I'm jealous of you!!!
