Guest guest
Hey I am leaving for Dallas in a bit for a convention...TETA... I am trying to decide some places to go eat near the airport stuff in Irving, but am willing to drive around the D/FW area...even though I don't have much free time. I am wondering what places are vegan friendly that an omni would enjoy. I am going with a McD's addict. She is atrociously unhealthy but I still would like to eat with her places. Last year when we went to houston and she drove we didn't drive anywhere cause she was too nervous driving in the city...so i was stuck in downtown area which my choices were subway, McD's (at least they had salad) Jason's Deli and an Italian place. I want better food than that. HELP? I am currently looking into spiral diner in FW and Cosmic Cafe in Dallas. Anything else that sounds yum that an omni might like. Thanks peeps. Also, which Whole Foods (or other health food place) is closest to the Holiday Inn by the airport? ~Mel Mail - Easier than ever with enhanced search. Guest guest
Hey Mel - I'm in DFW - there's LOTS of great places out here! Check out www.vegetariandallas.com Go to the " EATS " section - most of the vegetarian restaurants in Dallas are on this list. Call before you go - I don't know how often they update their list. I know that all of the ones listed in Richardson are open and wonderful! Suma Veggie and Veggie Cafe are artists with analogs - all Asian cuisine. In Lewisville, Malti - a vegetarian Indian restaurant - she prepares what she feels like unless you give her a specific request - she can do vegan on the veggie thali plate upon request, and she does a fantastic job! There are also two new ones - one is quite a drive. Fadi's at Preston and Beltline is a Mediterranean restaurant that I've been told has a great number of vegetarian and vegan options, but also offers meat. The one that's quite a drive is called Pure Raw Cafe - it's in the Lower Greenville area. I haven't been there yet, but it sounds like it might be a raw foodist cafe:) Blessings - Debra , Melissa Hill <assilembob> wrote: > Hey I am leaving for Dallas in a bit for a > convention...TETA... > I am trying to decide some places to go eat near the > airport stuff in Irving, but am willing to drive > around the D/FW area...even though I don't have much > free time. > I am wondering what places are vegan friendly that an > omni would enjoy. Guest guest
Oh - on the Whole Foods question, I believe the Arlington Whole Foods is close to you, but a much larger, nicer one is at Preston & Forest in Dallas. There's also one in Plano, Park & Preston that sells beer & wine. Go to their website for specific directions to the Arlington store - I've never been to that one, but I am told that it is small...
