Swedish White Brownies

This recipe has been in my

family for over 100 years. Modified a little over the years.

Preheat oven to 325

½ cup melted butter or margarine

2 large eggs

1 cup flour (I use unbleached all purpose)

(little bit of cinnamon or cardamom is optional added to flour)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp. almond extract

Optional slivered almonds for top

Optional turbinado or powdered sugar for top

Beat eggs until light and frothy. Add sugar and extract mix well.

Stir in flour and mix, then add butter.

Grease an 8X8 pan and spread batter evenly.

Bake for 30 minutes (test by inserting a toothpick in center)

When done I like to dust top with powdered sugar or turbinado sugar as it

cools.

Slivered almonds, crushed pecans or walnuts are also delicious on top.

Cut in squares and serve.

Enjoy........................Donna
