Guest guest
I thought chives, green onions (bigger looking chives), leeks (bigger looking green onions) and shallots (mini looking onions) were all somehow related to the onion family. Guest guest
They are in the same family (i know that now) but i think it's the difference between the taste. Green onions are not as strong but kindof bitter. Leeks are also more mild. Regular onions are strong and bitter (to me) especially red ones. Ickky. It is regular onions I hate and the others I don't like. But ngarlic is totally a different story. It's not even on the same page!! ~Mel --- matrixenos <matrixenos wrote: > > I thought chives, green onions (bigger looking > chives), leeks (bigger > looking green onions) and shallots (mini looking > onions) were all > somehow related to the onion family. > > S. > > > > , Diamond > Dog > <diamonddog@g...> wrote: > > Shallots are more like garlic. Guest guest
Have you tried a Walla Walla or Vidalia onion? Vidalias come from Georgia and are only available a short time of the year, I believe in May. Oh, my, they are so sweet. Not sure if you'd think those would smell bad? Guest guest
Yup. I used to live in GA! They're not as bad, I can even stand those in onion rings maybe once a year, but I still hate the smell. P.U. And never, ever undercooked or raw. V.
