Guest guest
I agree!!!! I love to make and eat homemade bread! i was in a funk when we first move to NYC because I couldn't find bulk yeast anywhere, and I couldn't bring myself to buy one of those little envelopes of yeast! When I finally spotted it on the shelf at Whole Foods, I felt like I was walking on air.. It was like my whole body rose up! =) I have been baking our family bread for almost a dozen years now! =) Jenni On Monday, April 4, 2005, at 07:49 AM, Adrien Giquel wrote: > > when it runs out there I am in the kitchen making bread. Guest guest
I have a bread maker and use the yeast and bla bla. I see a lot of recipes that look really good that call for baking powder or soda in place of the yeast and say to put in a loaf pan and bake. Has anyone made bread like that? Blessings, Chanda PS. I don't wanna bother to buy the loaf pans if the recipes are no good ( - Amy Monday, April 04, 2005 10:20 PM Re: Always making bread.... > when it runs out there I am in the kitchen making bread. Baking powder/soda breads are what's called quick breads they don't need a rise time. They tend to be quite sweet, and often dense, but can also be light like a muffin. I've never made one in a bread machine, but if there's a setting for it, I don't know why it wouldn't work! OTOH, they are easy - pretty much mix the wet stuff, mix the dry stuff, then mix the two together with as few strokes as possible. Bake and enjoy... *hugs* Amy
