Hey Shawn, Just out the door to Whole foods. You can get orzo pasta to use

instead and it's like a small rice shaped pasta. The acini is semolina also but

very tiny and swells up a bit when cooked. The almenticia is used more in soups

and I haven't tried that one in this recipe, it's a pasta that will cook up

faster and it's tossed in Mexican soups at the last 7 minutes or so. Do you

have an Italian deli in your area? Acini is imported from Italy. Try this

recipe with orzo if you can find it. Orzo will be in the pasta isle and used in

Italian dishes. It's a hard pasta like acini and takes that same time to cook.

Let me know and I'll toss a cup of acini in a manila envelope and send youi if

you can't find the orzo.

Hope you've had a good weekend. I finally planted spring flowers, I love my

purple pinata impatiens..............Donna

Hiya Donna! I went to get ingredients for this recipe. I couldn't

find " acini de pepe " . I looked in the pasta aisle and the rice aisle

(just in case). I tried the very small specialty aisle and found a

pasta called, " pasta alimenticia " . It's the smallest pasta I saw and

came in a few different shapes. I don't know if this can be used as a

substitute though (the ingredient on the package is " semolina " . Maybe

I could just use the other ingredients to saute and pour over some

macaroni pasta that I could boil. It wouldn't be the same but might

still be good. Any suggestions? ...have you (or anyone) ever used

pasta alimenticia? Thanks for any info. Have a good weekend, Donna.

Shawn :)

Made it for dinner and it was wonderful. Very easy, tasty and my

nephew and his pals asked for seconds. Wish I would have tried this

over the past holidays.
