Broccoli gives you: vitamin C, vitamin A, beta-carotene, folic acid, calcium and fiber. Calcium helps prevent osteoporosis. Broccoli's important anti-oxidants, beta-carotene and vitamin C can help prevent cataracts, heart disease and various cancers. Nibbling on broccoli (eating during often poses a risk!), because of its anti-oxidants and beta-carotene, has helped me stave off migraines. Yea broccoli! " The cat did not respond. My niece would make it at age 12, one of the easy dishes I taught her to make. Most people toss the stems.
