Guest guest
Hiya Donna. Thank you (and Susie) for the information. I'll have to get the orzo or go ahead and do the regular pasta bit. The almenticia is a perfect perfect perfect discovery - I love soups so I'll be using this quite alot (it sounds crockpot friendly too). It actually did have directions on it for soup (and this package was only $.29). I'll have to grab more of them next time (they had cool choices for shapes too - " watermelon seed " , " alphabet " , " stars " ). Good luck on your spring flowers! Take care, Shawn , GeminiDragon <thelilacflower> wrote: > Hey Shawn, Just out the door to Whole foods. You can get orzo pasta to use instead and it's like a small rice shaped pasta. The acini is semolina also but very tiny and swells up a bit when cooked. The almenticia is used more in soups and I haven't tried that one in this recipe, it's a pasta that will cook up faster and it's tossed in Mexican soups at the last 7 minutes or so. Do you have an Italian deli in your area? Acini is imported from Italy. Try this recipe with orzo if you can find it. Orzo will be in the pasta isle and used in Italian dishes. It's a hard pasta like acini and takes that same time to cook. > Let me know and I'll toss a cup of acini in a manila envelope and send youi if you can't find the orzo. > Hope you've had a good weekend. I finally planted spring flowers, I love my purple pinata impatiens..............Donna >

The stars are really cute. I use them for backpacking because I can cook them at home and dehydrate them... then on the trail they rehydrate really quickly.
