Guest guest
Hello and warm welcome to the group. i am pleased that you found us and like the feel of the place. i think it is a nice list with so many encouraging and helpful members. You asked for an example of what we eat for breakfast... Speaking for myself, yesterday i had a bowl of Cream of Wheat hot cereal with some slices of banana, some blueberries and a sprinkling of sucanat [a sweetener]. Today i had a breakfast burrito made with a flour tortilla, one egg, some salsa and slice of cheese. BTW, i am PT, a lacto-ovo vegetarian living in Oregon. i look forward to reading your posts. namaste ~ pt ~ If you help others, you will be helped.Ê Perhaps tomorrow, perhaps in a hundred years, but you will be helped.Ê Nature must pay off the debt.Ê It is a mathematical law and all life is mathematical. - Gurdjieff (1873-1949) ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> replying to this digest post: " Josie " <kitchen_tymes New member Hello, My name is Josie and for years have been yo yo-ing trying to go strictly veggie. I saw your group and it had a friendly feeling so here I am. I think most of the time the trouble I have is that I don't know what to eat and end up thinking all there is is lettuce to eat. I', in my 60s and diabetic (on pills). I haven't been doing too well there either. However, it's time I stop trying and start 'doing'. Any suggestions are welcome. For example: what's for breakfast..,etc Thanks and have a great day. Josie
Guest guest
Hi Josie, I start the day with steel cut oatmeal and a sliced banana................you might like to try that with 1/2 banana or a few blueberries on top..................Donna " The afternoon knows what the morning never suspected. Guest guest
I usually skip breakfast, I know, bad me bad me... When I do have breakfast I love some carrot /apple juice I make with my juicer. Carrot juice may not sound all that great, but lemmy tell ya,it really rocks, especially when mixed with an apple and some ginger. If I do breakfast I may do a pepper onion and cheese omlette. If I were vegan I would do some Thai soup. That's always a good breakfast, I would just leave the egg out. Also, think about a BLT. I don't like most fake meats but that fake bacon really rocks in a BLT. Also, this isn't breakfast, but it is so good I have to share. If you like cheese hoagies you will love this. Don't use American, that is too mushy in the sandwich. use Swiss, lettuce, tomato, oil, oregano salt pepper, horseradish sauce, onion, and some parm cheese................. mmmmm, to die for. Blessings, Chanda oh yeah, cucumber sandwiches and tomato sandwiches are great for any meal. - ~ PT ~ Wednesday, April 13, 2005 4:41 PM Welcome Josie.
