Guest guest
Yes, Happy Earth Day! I was stuck in mandatory employee meetings for the first part of the day. Now I'm back taking a break from frantically fixing some things that came up and quite hungry. They supplied lunch for us, but it was pretty pathetic. Make-your-own subs with white sub rolls, meat & cheese tray (yes, the cheese was layered with the meat), sliced unripe tomatoes, bags of shredded iceberg, and bags of greasy chips. Then, not enough food was ordered and since they guys all had two sandwhiches each, they ran out pretty fast. Hmmm, I may have to excuse myself from work early so I can get something to eat! I will be celebrating Earth Day on Saturday and Sunday since I'll be doing lots of planting. I bought a beautiful rose bush and some annuals to make a couple of container gardens for me & my sister. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Happy Passover to those of you who celebrate it! And I can start planting my potatoes next week once the full moon is over. Guest guest
Thank you, and Happy Earth Day to you and all here at the feral veg. *s* We went for a nature hike and a picnic. Took along water bottles, juice, veggie sandwiches and chips. It is such a lovely day here. i hope your day was pleasant. Speaking of deer, yesterday around noon a deer was in our front yard. My son spied her first and we had fun watching her wander off down the road. [we live on a dead end road outside of town] i bet those deer in your neighborhood will appreciate your feeder. *s* ~ pt ~ To have ideas is to gather flowers; to think is to weave them into garlands. ~ Swetchine ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~> , " ~Candace~ " <carvers@c...> wrote: > Hope everyone has a wonderful Environmentally Friendly Day. Guest guest
We (at my job) had an awesome Earth Day! Researched, made and explained-by, students from Geo-Science classes, there were booths with posterboards of information, stretching along almost all of the hallways of the third floor, with examples of products, endangere animals, and even a video or two on how important our Earth is!!!!! There was information on reducing, reusing, and recycling. A couple of girls even sold bracelets they'd made to raise money to help end slaughterhouse cruelty, while they showed a video fom PETA! The science teachers offered their students extra credit for finding answers to a list of scavenger-hunt questions, provided in information offered at the booths. Cool!!! I work at the freshman campus of New Trier High School, in Northfield, IL. Jiraph " The cat did not respond. She did not believe in paraphrasing anybody. Guest guest
We have a regular group of 6 deer. Last year our big doe had twins and from the looks of her right now it appears she will be having twins again, she looks huge and uncomfortable. They are so funny. When I feed them all they do is wander off about 20 feet into the woods then as soon as my back is turned they are at the feed. It is fun to watch their individual personalities. I love them Candace
Guest guest
A possum visited us to enjoy our Buddha's birthday wildlife offering (a plate of the meal we ate). She must have liked it because every bit was gone!
