Guest guest
Not sure if anyone remembers GranBurger TVP granules in a container that looked like a quart of milk. This is a wonderful recipe I have used for over 15 yrs. One I cut from the side of one of their containers they posted years back. First dish I ever used TVP in. It takes any unflavored or flavored TVP dry granules. Happy I ran across this again. Was missing for the past year. Believe me kids love this one. Here you go:m " Johnny Marzetti " 1/2 bell pepper diced red or green 1 cup diced onion 1 cup diced celery 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz) 1 can tomatoes with juice (16 oz) 1 cup water 1 clove garlic minced 1 tblsp. sugar 1 1/2 cups TVP granules 4 oz, can mushrooms 8 oz. medium noodles (ziti, penne, rotini, etc) measure 8oz uncooked 8 oz. cheddar cheese, soy cheese grated, or leave cheese off if vegan * optional parmesan cheese Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a dutch oven or heavy sauce pan with olive oil. Add bell pepper, onion, celery and garlic. Cover and cook on low until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes, stir every few minutes. Add tomato sauce, tomatoes, sugar, mushrooms, water and dehydrated TVP. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Cook noodles as directed on package. Combine noodles with sauce. Place in a 3 qt. casserole dish. Top with grated cheese and a dash of parmesan. Bake uncovered for 20 minutes and serve. Serves 8 Enjoy! Donna " The afternoon knows what the morning never suspected.
