Guest guest
Hi Rachel, You can very lightly toast white bread and let it sit on a rack and dry out even more in the center of the bread and then crumble it. You can let soft white bread dry out in a bowl and tear it in pieces and as it sits it will dry out enough to crumble the longer it sits.....That's what I usually do unless someone has an easier way............Donna raemom76 <RaeMom wrote: Hello I just picked up a cookbook the other day (The Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen) and it calls for soft white bread crumbs. Couldn't find a definition or how to make them in the book and wanted to know if anyone knew what this was. Thank You Rachel
Guest guest
Thanks Donna Seeing that makes me realize how obvious that should have been Rachel , GeminiDragon <thelilacflower> wrote: > Hi Rachel, > You can very lightly toast white bread and let it sit on a rack and dry out even more in the center of the bread and then crumble it. Guest guest
Not really, just ask and one of us will find the answer. I use crushed croutons once in a recipe and those are toooooooooooooooo hard. LOL I discovered the soft breadcrumbs because I feed the little sparrows each morning on the patio and they love them in small soft bits. Enjoy your day, Donna raemom76 <RaeMom wrote:Thanks Donna Seeing that makes me realize how obvious that should have been Rachel , GeminiDragon <thelilacflower> wrote: > Hi Rachel, > You can very lightly toast white bread and let it sit on a rack and dry out even more in the center of the bread and then crumble it. Guest guest
Rachel - I do the same as Donna - let it dry in a warm oven then crumble by hand. I think you can use a food processor, if you want finer crumbs and don't want to stick your hands in. I don't have a fp and haven't tried it...besides, I've a son who loves doing the crumble part! m
