Tapioca question

I have several eggs I need to use up...I might bake

muffins or something over the weekend just to use them

up.

Anyway, I also use eggs for tapioca. In my recipe for

tapioca I use regular milk, however, I have since

switched to soy and/or rice milk. Has anyone ever used

soy milk or rice milk in pudding making?

I have made custards with soymilk with no problem, but I've never

tried rice milk...

never had rice milk. I think I am moving towards vegan. Not really

intentionally, it's just happening. I have way cut down on my butter use, I use

margarine or oil instead, sometimes Crisco, LOL, and I never ever drink down a

glass of milk anymore, it would just make me sick, I drink Silk soy.

Just can't see myself ever giving up Mac and cheese. I think other than Mac and

cheese I could go vegan and not even think about it LOL.

Where can I get ricemilk? Can it be bought in the non perishable container? IS

it comparable to soy milk?

They sell rice milk anywhere...Surprisingly, it is

relatively cheap at Whole Foods. I think it's cheaper

there than even Trader Joe's. $1.19 for a

non-perishable container. I get Silk only if it's on

sale. Occasionally Super Fresh has their store brand

refrigerated soy milk (the big containers, what is

that, 64oz I think?) on sale for only 1.99 (regular

price is like 3.49).

We must be kindred spirits... mac & cheese is my vegan downfall too.

All the vegan recipes for it I've tried have been awful.

Ricemilk comes in asceptic boxes, I think.

For me cheese period makes it impossible for me to go

vegan :) Real cheddar cheese and brie can not be beat.

yeah me too.

Well, like I said, I think it is maybe natural to eat cheese just so many months

out of the year. When do cows and goats normally give birth?

When I think about cheese like in my Mac and cheese, OMG, bubbling in the

casserole dish all yummy good its all yummy good, but then I Think about it like

for what it is, it is from milk made by an animal to feed it's animal babies,

and if it is done with cows and goats, it can be done with humans. We can make

cheese out of our own milk too... would it be yummy too? and then that makes me

gag, and then I think.. well it's no different from that of a cow or goat.

I dunno.......LOL I don't think veganism is far off for me.
