Guest guest
Has anyone used the new rubber silicone baking containers? I see them on sale but haven't heard how they bake. At first I thought they were for the microwave oven but they state heat over up to 400 degrees and the baked item will pop right out. Are they safe? Guest guest
I use them. They do not brown as well as metal or glass. But I do like them They clean up in a snap. Candace

I also one time was making plantain tarts for a wine tasting party (I was catering it for a friend), and I used my small silicone pans, and also my metal pans so I'd have enough.... the metal ones browned better, and the some of the silicone ones were puffier - if you looked at the bottom of it, it was slightly domed, not flat. Still tasted great. Silicone is inert, so it's safe.
