Guest guest
With all the hoopla in the news about low carb this and low carb that, I think people have started becoming scared of veggies like potatoes. Since going veggie I have stopped eating potato anything as well. Are there health benefits in potatoes? I know they aren't all bad. Is there a type of potato that is better and healthier than others? Jen A home without a cat--and a well-fed, well-petted and properly revered cat--may be a perfect home, perhaps, but how can it prove title? - Mark Twin from Pudd'nhead Wilson
Guest guest
Eat your potatoes. They are very good for you, tons of minerals, vit c also. It's not the delicious potato that's bad, it's all the junk people put on top of them or the lard they fry them in. There's nothing better than steamed red potatoes with herbs on top..............Donna Jen Lott <celestial726 wrote:With all the hoopla in the news about low carb this and low carb that, I think people have started becoming scared of veggies like potatoes. Guest guest
potatoes are blessed. People have lived on them. This goof ball Atkins comes up with a lousy plan to cut an entire food group and like it's ok? People are suffering now due to his diet. I didn't know the man, but I do know that in any sadness from his death came the silver lining that he was not able to go on and make anymore people sick. Cut out a whole food group and sure you are gonna lose weight, I know you will lose some to being unhealthy. I watched these girls at my old job, they ate hard boiled eggs, cheese, pepperoni, ground beef etc. ughhhh, yeah.... that'll work. Your body needs things in veggies like potatoes and in grains. To cut this out is a sacrilege. It's the staple of life everywhere, either potatoes or some grain. A potato with some margarine and some whole wheat pasta doesn'thave the lard and bleached crappola and is pure goodness. ) Blessings, Chanda - GeminiDragon Tuesday, May 24, 2005 9:45 AM Re: Po-tay-toes pot-ah-toes Eat your potatoes. Guest guest
Such a sad thing that people would choose a potatoless life... Potatoes make me so very, very happy!!!! They are good for you - they have fiber, vitamin c & one of the b's and potassium. Plus they are delicious and comforting and wonderful - they can be cooked so many ways, too. Yum! Here's something intersting I found through a Tribe group ( " Healthy food for lazy people " , although I'm not lazy). This site seems to be for diabetics and people who have sugar addiction. Anyway, they claim that eating a potato before going to bed puts you in a good mood and helps you sleep. It also states that it can increase your REM. I don't know, look for yourselves and see what you think. But maybe that's why potatoes make you so very, very happy! www.radiantrecovery.com/ I have lots of potatoes growing in my garden right now, including Fingerlings, a couple different Reds, a Blue and many white-style that I can't remember their names right now. Guest guest
Last night, I ate mashed potato before bed... and barely slept... having nightmares while I did sleep. But it wasn't the potato! It was my my currently over-stressed unhappy life. Tonight I'm eating black bean pancakes (made by Golden). Even if I still can't sleep, at least right now my taste buds are happy. ===== Potatoes make me so very, very happy!!!! > > > Here's something intersting I found through a Tribe > group ( " Healthy > food for lazy people " , although I'm not lazy).
