Guest guest
Well! Today I went with some guys from church and drove to areas of New Mexico I had not yet discovered. I saw some beautiful bluffs, a natural arch, stunning scenery. We had New Mexican food at a small restaurant in a tiny town, went the back way to Socorro, and on back home. We all enjoyed a vegetarian meal together for our Memorial Day adventure. And, yep, at home, I had a veggie burger and some potato salad for dinner. And some grapes for the heck of it. Yum! It was a marvelous day of great company, awakened wonder inside of me, and, indeed, eating. And the first place we stopped was the first Stuckey's I've been to in around 18 years! It was a very good day. Peace and all good, Andrew
Guest guest
I ended up having a quiet day at home with my kitties on Memorial Day. I made eggplant parm. Saturday a friend and I took a ride to see her aunt in Scranton and ended up stopping in Allentown to have dinner at a pretty nice Japanese restaurant. I had a platter with California Roll and one roll with soft shell crab. That was my memorial day fanfare Jen " There are several good protections against temptation, but the surest is cowardice. Guest guest
we didn't do anything interesting for memorial day. i didn't even cook....we had leftovers. i had miso soup with rice noodles, shiitake mushrooms, and broccoli and then some leftover grilled corn on the cob (from when we grilled out on saturday). the hubby made a burrito using leftover grilled veggies (zucchini, yellow squash, onions, red bell) and quinoa pilaf. i was happy to not be traveling...i-95 in my part of virginia was bumper to bumper and at a complete standstill. susie --- Jiraph Wirpel <wirpel wrote: > So, everybody... what did we eat!?? > Did we serve vegetarian fare? > Go places where veggies were an option? > > Details! :^)

Guest guest
We too had a pretty quiet weekend...got some things done around the house which is always nice...ate pretty normal regular things. Except one night - Friday perhaps (it is all a blur already) when we decided to eat out. We tend towards small family owned places of ethnic persuasion...headed to a favorite spot called Blue Ginger (they actually think to ask if egg is okay and leave fish & oyster sauce out of stuff with out reminders) and to our total dismay it was closed. The downfall of the small places is they don't always manage to keep up... So we thought we'd try a new place closeby called Indochine, it is the second of three in the area...I don't know if it is a nationwide chain. We were very pleasantly surprised, which was nice after the big disappointment! They served thai/asian sort of stuff, satay...which I realize I'm not exactly sure what that is. Anyway, they were great too about the vegetarian stuff - careful to leave out fish sauce without acting confused, checked if egg was okay & everything could be done with tofu. I got a delicous gange (I think) curry dish...spicy, coconutty, reddish...really yummy, I was in heaven. The hubby and kids all loved their dishes also...and we got yummy deep fried tofu for appetizer (the toddler was in heaven with them) as well as spring rolls. We don't eat out often, so as you can tell, it was a thrill...and I love curries...and not doing dishes... Donna, thanks for the peach bread recipe - will make it very soon, sounds really good & I know the family will love it! Welcome to June...birthday month for several of us!! m
