Guest guest
The definition of Fiddlehead ferns was the question of this weeks FoodTV newsletter. Fiddlehead ferns are tightly coiled fern frond that resembles the spiral end of a violin (fiddle). They have a rich, deep green color and are about 2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches in diameter. They have a flavor akin to an asparagus-green bean-okra cross and a texture that's appealingly chewy. Fiddlehead ferns are a good source of vitamins A and C. Guest guest
Mmmm, I had fiddlehead ferns this weekend. My husband gets dibs since he is the produce man. They were delicious sauted with a lil garlic and EVOO. I really hope you can find them. :-) Whitney --- Donnalilacflower <thelilacflower wrote: > Your blog is lovely. Guest guest
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (it is what that twit Rachel Ray calls it... I can't stop watching her show but she is sooooo annoying I just want to strangle her! Man... that was really aggressive, oh wait it is almost 5 o'clock! :-)) For anyone else interested, I am definitely not in New England but got the fiddleheads at Whole Foods.
