LOL Interesting link, thanks for sharing. TM
Guest guest
In digest #709, Raven asked for advice: " Hi Everyone, I have two weird questions to ask. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. 1) I moved into a teeny-tiny trailer with 2 other people who already have things stocked in the pantry. There isn't a lot of room for me to put my various vegan ingredients (mostly non-perishable, like spices and mixes), so I haven't had a lot of opportunity to cook for myself. Does anyone know of a space-saving way for me to store my things? I've considered storage boxes in the closet, but is there something more convenient? 2) My roomates hate the smell of fake meat cooking. I mean, they absolutely can't stand it. Is there a way to cook my boca burgers/chick'n/sausages so they won't smell as strong? I've only been microwaving them. " ~ 1. Well, your questions raise other questions for me. Why don't you get a shelf or some room for storage in the kitchen for your things? i realize you might be the newbie there, but surely they could give up a bit of space for you to store your food-stuffs since i presume you also pay a portion of rent. 2. Last i checked the scent of real meat cooking was way stronger than any meat analog. Do they cook their meat outside or do anything to make special accomodation for you having to smell their foods that you find disgusting smelling? Tolerance cuts both ways, and it sounds to me like they aren't being very accepting of your different lifestyle but are expecting you to go out of your way for them. Sorry i don't have any helpful advice except to suggest you get better roomies! i'm sending positive thoughts your way. ~ pt ~ Impart as much as you can of your spiritual being to those who are on the road with you, and accept as something precious what comes back to you from them. ~ Albert Schweitzer (01/14/1875-1965)
Guest guest
One of my last jobs some guy wore a shirt saying, " Save a cow, eat a vegetarian " knowing good and well that I was vegan! Some people support it saying things like, " I wish I could do that " etc etc, and others argue with me, and the things they say I of course will not repeat because I don't listen to what they have to say anyways. I just roll my eyes and say, " Well, look at you, and look at me " ..this shuts up about 80% of them! Why? I look great (have great skin, no blemishes, my hair looks great, great nails etc), I'm healthy (no illness - well except for Allergies and Asthma - but that has nothing to do with diet), I'm thin and always full of energy (I have GREAT metabolism). Meanwhile they are; lazy - can barely do any thing that would bring a sweat for 5 minutes, obese, health problems, dull hair and skin and nails, etc etc. Unfortunately I haven't met a healthy meat eater yet! Now I'm not saying all meat eaters aren't healthy, and I'm not saying all vegetarians or vegans are healthy. I know my share of vegs that aren't healthy (which is why they adapted to this diet). Statistacaly vegetarians or vegans are gernerally healthier than meat eaters. You're only supposed to eat meat a couple of times a month , and all portions should be the size of your fist or smaller - now this was a DOCTOR telling my dad this! Sraight from the horses mouth so to speak.
