The kind I am used to is the white sauce, not spicy. Very basic, not tons of flavor, but I love it. like a German cucumber salad? I have a recipe for that, if that is what you want I'll dig it up tonight. Let me know. Its my friend's MIL's recipe, she is German and it is really good. there is a white version and a vinegar version. AmyF
Guest guest
My grandmother used to make it all the time. She was from Denmark. I've got the recipe somewhere. I'll see if I can locate it for you. Joanie

Thanks 1 long cucumber, sliced thin 3 T favorite oil 2 T natural, white vinegar salt, cracked pepper pinch of sugar 1 med onion, sliced extremely thin handful of chopped fresh herbs (parsley, dill, etc) adjust to taste by adding more of whatever you want Or: 1 long cucumber, sliced thin. 1 onion sliced thin. in a bowl whisk together sour cream, white vinegar, pinch sugar, salt & pepper to taste, big handful of chopped dill. Mix well, add cucumber & onion. Important ingredient is dill since it goes great with the sour cream. Hope this helps, AmyF
Guest guest
LOL, I've eaten this since I was young. My Dad was German. I was expecting some sort of " fancy " recipe. My Mom just used the cucmbers, thin sliced onion, a little dill, some vinegar and water, salt and pepper.
