Guest guest
This is my Mom's old recipe. It's fail proof and much requested. Fudge Brownie Pie 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted 2 large eggs 1/3 cup flour 1/3 cup cocoa powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional) Preheat oven to 350 and grease and flour a 9-inch pie plate Beat together the butter and sugar until blended. Add eggs and mix well, beat on low. Combine flour, cocoa and salt in a small bowl, mix and add to the above mixture. Stir in the vanilla and nuts if using nuts. Pour into prepared pie plate and bake for 20 minutes. *Note* If you want double chocolate, add some morsels to the mixture. Cool on wire rack, to serve, slice like a pie and top with strawberries or soy or ice cream. Tomatoes and oregano make it Italian; wine and tarragon make it French. Sour cream makes it Russian; lemon and cinnamon make it Greek. Soy sauce makes it Chinese; garlic makes it good. Source: Alice May Brock Celebrate Earth Day everyday! Guest guest
HI Donna! That's *my* Mother's old recipe too. :>) Ditto on your next sentence. :>) For potlucks, I usually double the recipe and bring a bottle of raspberry syrup to drizzle over it. Also good with the raspberry syrup IN it--an innovation I thought would be tasty once, and boy, did it knock my socks off! Try adding about 2-3 T. raspberry syrup (a la Smucker's) to the batter along with the eggs. DEEEEE lectable! I know it's been awhile since I've been here, just thought I'd pop back and say 'hey'. I'm thinking of switching my subscription over to my musical email addy. I am there so much of the time now and I just forget to check here...and I'm missing out on so much good conversation and recipes, I know. Try adding about 2-3 T. raspberry syrup >(a la Smucker's) to the batter along with the eggs. DEEEEE lectable! I had a friend back in FL who used to make brownies like this, and sometimes she would add orange extract instead. They were outstanding. No recipe though, she just uses a regular mix, pudding-in-the-mix ix, and the various extracts. Espresso, mint and raspberry and orange were th big hits. > Hugs, > Bron Bron!
