Interesting recipe - if you really want something closer to Worcestershire

sauce, make sure you add tamarind (easily puchased as a paste). I would

substitute it for some/most of the molasses.

 

Of course, the " real thing " also has anchovy paste, which isn't vegan. There

are at least two gf brands, however (but most are not).

I didn't realize it when this recipe was first posted - but it makes a HUGE

batch of mock Worchestershire. It could easily be cut into one fourth but the

cayenne amount would be miniscule and might have to be adapted for taste.

 

The other night I made a rice noodle pudding for pesach, but somehow the label

had come off my packet of cayene and my helper thought it was paprika! We added

1 tbsp of cayenne instead of 1 tbsp of paprika. Keith was excellent about it

and doggedly ate his whole serving - but it took him three glasses of water and

the children gave up - lol.

I found this recipe, but to me it doesn't sound right. So i looked around and

found this website, this list all the ingredients and it sound better then the

recipe. I think im gonna order a bottle.

Worcestershire Sauce

 

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

2 tbsps. soy sauce

2 tbsps. water

1 tbsp. brown sugar

1/4 tsp. ground ginger

1/4 tsp. dry mustard

1/4 tsp. onion powder

1/4 tsp. garlic powder

1/8 tsp. cinnamon

1/8 tsp. pepper

 

Place all ingredients in a medium saucepan and stir thoroughly. Bring to a boil,

stirring constantly. Simmer 1 minute. Cool.

Store in the refrigerator.
