Guest guest
I'm in vegetarian hell! Sorry for the lengthy post, enjoy the read! hehe oops :-) It's not bad enough that the vegetarian, vegan get togethers are few and far between here and that the actual true pure vegetarians who are actual meatless vegetarians and don't eat any fish or chicken are rare. But, add to this painful combination the fact that I'm a non-dairy pure vegetarian woman who has to share land space with unhealthy misguided omni/carnivores!!!AAAAAAAAAA <-- " screaming " ! I'm on my feminine moon cycle monthly visitor and sadly while I do get very hungry and feel the need to eat quite a bit, the moment I had to open the " community " fridge here I nearly croaked and thought I'd faint! Granted, my dear husband and I live in our own self-contained older RV motorhome that has a good fridge and stove, a small but functional kitchen. But sometimes we have zero choice, but to have to use the fridge here that's used by 2 men here who can only be described as self-destructive misguided primitive cavemen! We had to defrost our freezer - we have to do this at least once per month - and we had to put some things from our fridge in the 1 in the house here and I did it begrudgingly, but I did it otherwise we'd lose quite a bit of good healthy food. I'm so grateful and thank god our fridge is functional and the freezer works. I tell ya, the only way I would EVER share land and/or a fridge with other people is if minimum they're 100% completely meatless, no fish or ANY flesh meat! I mean, come on, it's the 21st Century and you're STILL eating meat?! OMG!!! My husband and the landlady, the woman who owns the land we're parked and living on, both emphatically tell me: I gotta find and talk with some cool aware vegetarian women and get them over here and get some feminine vegetarian energy here and FAST! Oh, on top of it, not sure I mentioned it above, but when I walked into the house to return some extra green beans to the fridge veggie drawer, the air was filled with gross bbq smell and I thought I'd be sick to my stomach! Sure enough, I looked to the window and I could see the bbq standing there covered with smoke seeping out! When I came back to the RV here I told my husband that if no one else was here I'd scream! I just can't take it, I just can't take it! I often ask and wonder why it's so difficult to find true 100% actual complete pure vegetarians in this region or in the state of Florida at all, compared to California, which is where we are originally from. Hubby and I both feel that the vibe is different here in Florida than it is in California and the people there have more conviction there in California. The vegetarians there take vegetarianism and veganism very seriously and it's very important to them. When they are vegetarian they actually mean it. I would really love and give almost anything to meet some kind wonderful vegetarian/vegan women to connect, bond with and confide in for loving moral emotional tender support. I feel so very alone! :'-( *sigh* Okay, thank you for letting me vent. I just had to get it off my chest. Thanks again for this wonderful group. I'll post more when I can. If anyone health-oriented/minded non-drinking, non-smoking, non-caffeine/coffee drinker, who is a label reader, treats their body as a temple, and eats whole natural organic foods lives anywhere near me wants to connect and contact me, please feel free to do so...please don't be shy and say hello. I'd love more wonderful veg friends. Peace, Love, and Hugs, Dayna

Guest guest
Hi Dayna, I know what you mean. I live in Florida but made my transition to being consistently vegetarian in Atlanta, GA. I became vegan shortly after moving to the Florida panhandle but it was years before hubby converted. I now have a toddler and become very depressed sometimes at the thought of raising her here. I think about moving to The Farm in Tennessee because I don't want to expose her to the trials you are experiencing. What part of FL are you in? How long have you been here? We have potlucks once monthly and restaraunt outings once monthly (we go as a group so they will cater to us). Maybe you are close enough to come over here every now and then for some relief and good company. In the meantime, cleansing breaths between screams!!
