Guest guest
MSNBC is asking how much meat you eat, and surprisingly, the 'vegetarian' and 'eat less meat than before' categories are winning by a landslide. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/12802817 Jenni www.little-tomato.com

Guest guest
I hate to disagree but do not trust this poll one bit. I know a lot of people. I would say less than 5 % of the people I know are vegetarian. I also tend to know more vegetarians than most people because that would tend to be my preference. I saw a poll in Vegetarian Times. Less than 1% actually did not eat meat or fish. I do like all people though. They need to ask what the peoplel actually eat. A lot of people eat fish or chicken and call themselves vegetarians. My teacher once commented on vegetarians who go to a pizza place and ask for double cheese pizza. He said " We don't eat anything that walks, swims or flies or that has a mother. But cheese. It just sits there. Guest guest
I wish for it to be true but I don't think there are that many vegetarians because I don't run in to very many of them and they tell me the same thing that thye eat chicken but they are vegetarian. Guest guest
Well we have over 1,000 Vegetarian/Vegan members in this group alone and have only been a *group* for a less than a year. Like all good things most people who are Vegetarian/Vegans just live a quiet healthy lifestyle and make little or no noise. I suspect there are many more of us about. Guest guest
You know with all the diseases like mad cow, etc. more and more people are turning to vegetarianism. I see so many people in the market buying veggie burgers and I almost always have someone ask me how to cook a certain veggie since they tell me they are trying to make sure they eat more veggies. You know what I'm going to do? I will make a little flyer up with this group, PT's and AJ's and see if I can get them to join us for recipes and cooking help. Guest guest
Okay, honesty counts, and I am an imposter living among you! I'm not vegetarian, nor do I claim to be. I am, however, a person concerned with eating as healthy as possible, which means (for me right now) less meat. I'm learning to substitute meat with veggies and such, but am not sure I could give it up alltoghter. Thanks for the support, and I hope I'll still be welcomed! PS- the only thing that " tastes just like chicken " , is chicken. Being an almost-vegetarian, I'm not sure why you'd give it up, to eat something that tastes just like it? (This is not a political statement, just my own musing). Lori
