Now Wee what is Ackee?

I can't wait to hear about this. Is it hot and spicy?

I'm bad at gluten free since I eat everything.

I'm hoping some of the members acn help you with that one.

I eat all types of breads, pasta, etc. so I never know if something has gluten

in it or not.

Cheers,

Donna

I am grateful for the confirmation :-)

I am aware now that I must avoid Wheat, Rye and Barley :-(

Thank you for the prompt reply <big smile>

Re: Gluten Free Food and OT rash Hi Wee

With a gluten free diet, you are allowed no wheat at all.

Dear Donna,

I am grateful for the question, " what is Ackee ? " .

It is a delicacy in Jamaica.

It has a large pod which is fruiting on a large tree.

When the Ackee is ready the pods open up and inside you see a lovely bright

yellow Ackee.

It looks like Cod Roe but doesn't taste anything like it.

The flesh is very delicate and tender( i.e. melts in your mouth without

having to bite).

You can smash the lovely yellow Ackee with your tongue.

In Jamaica, folks cooked Ackee with Saltfish.

Jamaicans delicacy are " Rice & Peas " serve with Bahmee, which soaks up your

tea, lol.

Bahmee is made from Cassava(Tapioca).

You must try to google " Ackee " and " Bahmee " .

Pictures speaks a million words & I was treated to a lot of pictures with

" google search engine " :-)

I tried to google " Bahmee " but I think I spell it wrong.

I know it is pronouce as " Bahmee " but don't know the exact spelling.

Heh, many members have already email me regarding gluten.

I will wait for some more before I post my final conclusion.

Like you I also eat everything but now I can't :-(

Best Wishes,
