Don't you just love Mandolins??? They cut kitchen chopping time to a bare

minimum. What would I do without this handy gadget, I hate to think. I've

owned one for 20 years and use it ALL THE TIME!!!. This is the one I use and

replace when it wears out.

HAH. Evil flippen gadgets. Every time I even LOOK at mine, i get my finger

nearly sliced off. Won't go NEAR it even to throw it out. You can come & get

it if you'd like. Anyone can. It's almost unused.

Girl, someone needs to show you how to use that properly and you wouldn't cut

your fingers. They are indispensible when you know how to safely use them.

Mandolines,??? I researched it on line and what I read is that it

doesn't work too well on potatoes.??? It looked scary to me. Do you

know how old fashioned I am? I will use my old grater or potato

pealer until I find one of these mandolines at my local thrift store.

Does anyone have a lot of practice using one of these things?

See, I can handle the potato peeler & knives. I've not yet cut myself on the

food processor, either. I just can't go near the mandoline. It friggen hates

me. Seriously, anyone can come & take it!! It's this one:

I agree with you. I had one a few years ago, but after slicing parts of my

finger off a few times, I decided I wasn't " grown up " enough to have one and

threw it out.

I did just purchase another mandoline the other day, however, to make more

of these, hoping I had grown up since then! So far, so good. =)
